Assam minor gangrape: One of the accused jumps into pond while trying to flee; dies

The main accused in the Assam rape case died after jumping into a pond while trying to escape police custody. Police recovered his body after two hours. The incident occurred during a re-creation of the crime scene. The accused was among three who gang-raped a 14-year-old girl in Nagaon district. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice
