‘Team India in safe hands’: Brett Lee on new head coach Gautam Gambhir

BCCI has appointed Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, succeeding Rahul Dravid. Gambhir’s appointment comes after his successful stint as a mentor with the Kolkata Knight Riders, leading them to their third Indian Premier League (IPL) championship in 2024. Dravid’s tenure concluded with India’s triumphant campaign at the T20 World Cup, ending the team’s 11-year drought in ICC tournaments. Gambhir’s first assignment as head coach will be an overseas limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to commence on July 27. The series will consist of three T20 International matches and three One Day Internationals.
