Muhammad Yunus acquitted in corruption case

Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was acquitted in a second legal case on Sunday after Bangladesh’s anti-corruption commission sought to withdraw prosecution. Yunus, along with 13 others, faced charges for misappropriating about Bangladeshi taka 25.22 crore from Grameen Telecom workers’ profit funds. Earlier, Yunus and Grameen Telecom officials were also cleared of labour law violations by a Dhaka tribunal.
