Bangladesh witnessed a resurgence of anti-government protests as demonstrators, demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, clashed with government supporters. The unrest stemmed from a controversial job quota system. Police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the crowds, and an indefinite nationwide curfew was imposed. PM Hasina labelled the protesters as ‘terrorists’ and called for their suppression.
