‘Risk of large outbreak low’: Centre reviews Monkeypox situation in country

Union Health Minister JP Nadda reviewed India’s monkeypox preparedness, implementing measures at airports, seaports, and crossings to detect and manage potential cases. While monkeypox usually lasts 2-4 weeks and has low risk of large outbreaks, authorities are vigilant, especially concerning African arrivals. A serosurvey is being conducted to understand the infection risk among high-risk groups.
