43 killed, 200 injured in Sunni-Shia clashes in Pakistan northwest since July 24

In Pakistan’s Kurram tribal district, clashes over a land dispute escalated into sectarian violence between Sunni and Shia tribes, resulting in 43 deaths and over 200 injuries. A temporary ceasefire was achieved with the help of a local tribal jirga. The conflict led to food and medical shortages in many villages as authorities closed roads to contain the unrest.
