South Korea records longest streak of ‘tropical nights,’ breaks 118 years record

South Korea experienced an unprecedented heatwave, breaking a 118-year record with 26 tropical nights in a row, with temperatures consistently above 25°C. Seoul marked the longest period of extreme heat since 1907, surpassing the 2018 record. Busan also endured 21 consecutive tropical nights, matching previous records set in 1994 and 2018.
