North Korea’s Kim and Russia’s Putin vow deeper ties on Korean liberation day

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pledged to deepen ties with Russia in response to Vladimir Putin’s message on the anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japan. Kim emphasized the historical bond between their countries and highlighted the comprehensive strategic partnership signed recently. He also commemorated Korean and Soviet soldiers who fought against Japan during World War Two.
